I am pleased to announce the formation of an exciting new program for students and families. Studying the guitar is a wonderful experience, but the real joy is the one derived from a live performance.
In this supportive atmosphere students will learn and receive the following:
- How to rehearse and interact with a rock band on their own level
- Control over professional equipment
- Working with others to be a team player
- What constitutes a professional Stage Presentation
- Vocal Presentation and proper usage of microphones
- How to overcome performance anxiety
- How a real sound check is conducted
- What it is like to perform in a real rock club in font of a live audience in full attendance
- Handing "on-stage" problems when they occur
- Copy of their performance on a DVD to enjoy forever

How it Works
Once your student displays an interest you will be sent an information packet, based on age and ability level, within two weeks via email. In many cases they will want to invite a friend to join, which is easily accomodated. At this point I will personally sit down with the family to ensure that both your and my expectations are fully understood.

The program lasts six weeks. Your student will start by choosing six songs from a large variety of repertoire and styles. The first three weeks consists of private lessons accompanied by "mini" rehearsals, either at your home or my studio on West 72nd Street.
Then the three-week drive to the stage! We will perform three rehearsals in a fully equipped studio. To help parents with transportation, I have several rehearsal venues in various locations that are available.
Then the excitement grows as the kids approach their stage performance in a live club venue, where your kids will rock you! A video of their performance on DVD will be a treasure of a lifetime.

Who is Involved?
I will always be in attendance with your student. References are available, and my teaching credentials are summarized under the Private Instruction section.

Phil Bloom, drum teacher at the Collegiate School, will also be instructing. Phil has a great track record and his reputation and the respect from his students are both held in high regard. He will be directly involved in teaching your student all aspects of drumming. He is a welcome addition, and will also provide students with professional advice and experience. |

Scheduling
After thirty years of accommodating private school students, I am very aware of the problems of parent's schedules. I also understand the various "windows of opportunity" that are the easiest to utilize. The program is designed to only have three mandatory sessions. Unlike other programs of this nature, I can afford parents a larger degree of flexibility.
